[ it's nice, having someone else with similar sensibilities and style and taste. just two sect leader/peak lords. it makes shen qingqiu easier to approach, and so lan xichen does, to talk about his experiences out of the lodge. he desperately wants to compare notes to figure out this place.

Can you tell me a little bit more about it? I've heard people talking about demons but I'm not sure what to make of it.

The one that we had seen? There's not much to say, unfortunately. Given how the room was shrouded in shadow, only the barest hint of identity could be seen.

When I was out with the others I believe we met the original owner of the cabin. He said he was studying something to destroy the beings trying to take over this place and turn it into a desert of ice.

I wonder if there is something important about this place.

I am not sure. Though it seems whatever was living here and what came here were at war? [ xichen chuckles, and makes that face a person makes when they are about to say something insane ] The best I could understand it is they were two warring um, species, that were at odds and fought here until one of them was wiped out.

And thus we've been embroiled into this mess somehow.

[ sighs ] As long as it does not send those ice creatures we should be fine here.

I think you're right - there's nothing else to be gained by killing each other.

[ except maybe whatever the fuck kray's problem was but that's another story,, ] Especially if what Bedivere said was true about slowly growing colder with the demon's curse. It lines up with this demon being able to control icy monsters.
